According to first results of the 2021 census, the total population of the Czech Republic increased from 10.44 million in 2011 to 10.52 million (plus 0.84%). Central Bohemian Region shows the highest growth by +9.78%. Karlovy Vary Region lost 5,57% of its population.

13 places have changed the district: Holýšov and 8 other localities moved from Domažlice to Plzeň-jih distict, Študlov and Valašské Příkazy from Vsetín to Zlín district, Harrachov from Semily to Jablonec nad Nisou district, and Černíky from Nymburk to Kolín district.
