The results of the 1991 census are mainly based on projections because of a boycott of the Albanian population.
The population of settlements in the municipalities of Leposavić, Zubin Potok and Zvečan as well as of North Mitrovica has not counted by the 2011 census. The 2011 population of Mitrovicë has been increased by 12,326, which is an estmate of the Kosovo Agency of Statistics for North Mitrovica.
